About Me

I am about to graduate as a Bioresource Engineer with a minor in Biomedical Engineering from McGill University. Few people know about Bioresource engineering so let me explain. It is a form of multi-disciplinary engineering which covers aspects of mechanical engineering (Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Machinery, Electrical Circuits, Heat Transfer), civil engineering (mechanics of materials, structural engineering, soil mechanics and foundations, material analysis). In the last year students can specialize, I have specialized in food engineering where I studied chemistry, microbiology, and mathematical modeling and simulation. In Biomedical engineering I have studied artificial organs, modeling, and many other interesting fields. Lastly, I graduated as a Master Brewer having studied brewing sciences which allowed me to study biochemistry, microbiology, agriculture, and mechanics.

Maybe a long list of studies doesn't provide a good idea of my character. I enjoy learning; so much so that for my birthday and Christmas I receive courses in things like music (guitar&drums), computer programming, brewing, cooking, molecular cooking, skiing, rock climbing, electricity, and much more. In my free time - you guessed it - I study other exciting fields like astronomy, network security, new programming languages, guitar, drums, and more.

Compare this to someone who studied one form of science/math his whole career and attempts to teach. They often view things in a single way, and can only approach problems through this method. What does this say about me as a tutor? I have studied at the University level in such a wide variety of science, math, and engineering that I can help you in even the most diverse and ambiguous classes using a wide variety of techniques. I have studied in my own time in a wide variety of applied fields which mean I can even help you in your hands on projects (recently I built a fully automated brewery using solenoid valves, computers, PID controllers, and other cool gadgets).

I have tutoring experience in High School math, science, and language. I also have experience in CEGEP math, chemistry (solutions, analytic, and biochemistry), and biology. Having been raised by an English professor, I am sure I can be valuable in language/literature courses too. Not sure whether or not I am capable of tutoring for your specific class? Contact me and I'll be pleased to either learn it on the spot, or give you an honest answer.
