I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a minor in American Sign Language and deaf studies in December 2010 from the University of Iowa. I moved to Connecticut in July 2010 to join my fiance who has been living and working here since 2009.

I have been a volunteer tutor at New Haven Reads since September 2010, and I like to help other students who need or want a tutor. I love seeing students' eyes light up when they understand a concept they had been previously struggling
